if all you have is liability insurance than your insurance will only cover the other vehicle or property you hit it will cover 0 zero on your car and will only cover the other party up to the limits you buy so if you a 15k policy limit ..and you rear end a vehicle the cost to replace or repair the other vehi can not go over 15k if it does you’ll owe the diffence to cover your car you need comprehensive/collision or as commonly knowns full coverage.

auto insurance does not cover for everyday wear and tear repairs on a vehicle it sounds like this is what you are asking as a matter of fact even if you get in an accident liability does not cover your car at all it only covers the other person if it is your fault and in most states if not all it is required coverage the only way your car is covered and this is in the event of an accident is if it is the other persons fault in which case their insurance will pay or you can buy what is called collision coverage to cover your car if it is your fault comprehensive coverage is for damage caused by storms or other mishaps the insurance company will only cover up to actual cash value under any circumstance unless you buy full cost replacement insurance which is extremely expensive

Liability will repair others property up to the policy limits. You need to educate yourself about insurance so you can make wise choices

It’s easier to tell you what insurance will not cover: it will not cover wear and tear, it will not cover mechanical breakdown, it will not cover regular maintenance.
What it will cover depends on what you purchased. Did you purchase collision and comprehensive? If so, this pays for physical damage to your vehicle. Your best bet is to sit down with your agent - he/she will be able to give you an idea of the types of things insurance covers.
Liability coverage pays when you (or someone using your vehicle) causes damage to someone else’s vehicle. Liability does not pay for damage to your car.
Again- the best thing to do is sit down with your agent so you can ask questions.

Liability coverage does not cover you for the repairs of your vehicle. It protects you for damages you cause to another person and/or property damage. Hopefully, you have adequate liability limits.
In no case, even if you had Collision/Comprehensive coverage, would your insurance pay for the repair of your vehicle if it the repair was for normal wear and tear and not related to a collision or comprehensive incident.

Liability insurance is for damage you do to others, not for your property. Even if you had full collision and comprehensive, it would not cover any damage to a vehicle that existed before the policy was put in place. Insurance is not a repair and maintenance plan.
A comparison to whats already out there is good too..
Best of luck to you.
